Key Food Equipment Services, a household name in the restaurant industry in British Columbia, Canada, is a Canadian owned company that has been specializing in servicing commercial kitchen equipment since 1982. Key’s Past President, Jean Choquette, comes from a family with nearly 100 years’ connection to the restaurant equipment service business. His grandfather founded Eugene Choquette Electrician in Montreal in 1913, now known as ‘Choquette CKS’. Jean acquired Key in 1997 when it had only six service technicians and has led it in a phase of dramatic growth.

Then in November 2001, they partnered with Enviro-Tech Mechanical Services, a company specializing in refrigeration and HVAC. This alliance allows its customers within Metro Vancouver to find all the professional services needed for their commercial kitchen equipment in one convenient location. In March 2005 Key Food expanded to Edmonton Alberta. Then in May 2010, Key expanded to Kelowna BC, followed by Saskatoon and Regina in June 2011. Key's most recent move was in November 2011, to Lethbridge, where we service those in southern Alberta.
In May 2003 Key became certified by CFESA, the Commercial Food Equipment Service Association. Key achieves recertification with CFESA every three years and takes pride in exceeding the number of experienced technicians holding Certified Master status. In addition, Jean Choquette enjoys the title of ‘Past President’ of this association.
