About Us

Key Food Equipment Services is the leading provider of maintenance and repair parts for commercial kitchen equipment in Western Canada. We pride ourselves on our know-how and the quality of service our technicians provide. We select technicians with outstanding potential and basic skills in commercial kitchen equipment maintenance and repair, and then offer them in-depth training and mentoring by senior technicians. Furthermore, they take advantage of regular skills upgrades and manufacturers’ factory training so that they are up to date on all the types of equipment we service. They have the skills and the trades tickets, where appropriate, so that our foodservice customers can always have confidence in the commercial kitchen equipment maintenance (link to maintenance page) that Key provides.

Heading off emergencies through planned maintenance and dealing correctly and efficiently with problems when they do occur are what keep our customers up and running, saving them time and money. A further efficiency factor for our customers is our on-line kitchen repair parts ordering system , which lets customers reference manufacturer parts databases for their commercial kitchen equipment and place and track orders on-line. A customer who uses this service for all of his equipment can receive reports on kitchen repair parts usage, service history, and maintenance costs, and see it by location in the case of multi-unit operators.

Though it does have a predecessor company, Key Food Equipment Services dates its origin from 1982. We received our present name in that year and then were acquired by Jean Choquette in 1997. Jean comes from a family with deep roots in the commercial kitchen equipment/ maintenance/kitchen repair parts industry. His grandfather founded Choquette Commercial Kitchen Services in Montreal in 1913, and his family has been in this business ever since. Under Jean’s leadership, we have built headquarters in Vancouver and Edmonton and grown to over 34 technicians providing commercial kitchen equipment maintenance and kitchen repair parts to almost every major chain and hundreds of independents in Western Canada.
